Jonni Kincher was born in Oklahoma and grew up in Colorado and California. She received her education in psychology at California State University, San Bernardino.
Her interest in psychology began when she was in third grade, but there weren’t many psychology books for young children “back then,” so she designed special courses in academic psychology for third grade through high school and created her own materials.
She began teaching “Psychology for Kids Playshops” so “kids” could use their natural curiosity about themselves to learn the basics of psychology as an academic discipline and thus be introduced to another area of study in the social sciences. The ideas and materials for her books were developed and tested in the Playshops.
Jonni continues to teach, learn, write, and create art. Her family has grown from a husband, John, and three sons—Adam, Joe, and Travis—to include the daughters she always wanted in the form of her daughters-in-law, Amy and Jolie.
