About the Adding Assets Series for Kids
Researchers have identified 40 good things that all kids need in their lives. Called Developmental Assets, they include a loving family, a caring neighborhood, self-esteem, and a commitment to learning. Surveys consistently show that the more assets kids have, the more likely they are to do well in life and avoid problems in school and high-risk behaviors like alcohol use, illicit drug use, and violence. Even young children can make choices, learn skills, and practice behaviors that put them on the right path.
The eight books in the Adding Assets Series empower kids ages 8–12 to build their own Developmental Assets in relationship with caring adults.
