Absolutely, we accept purchase orders from schools and organizations. For faster processing: 1. Mail OR fax (please do not do both) your official signed, numbered, and dated purchase order, along with the completed order form. We cannot accept purchase orders over the phone or the Web. 2. Be sure to identify an accounts payable contact name and phone number. We cannot process your order without this information. 3. Please include the source code and customer number found on the back cover of your catalog.

To request a Free Spirit catalog, send us a request. We’ll send you a catalog in 7 to 10 business days. Free Spirit uses recycled paper.
The Literary Marketplace (LMP) is published annually and available at most libraries in their resource sections. The LMP lists reputable publishers, their areas of publishing, and contact information. There are also several annual guides that list children’s book publishers and their submission criteria. These books are also available at most libraries. Finally, How to Get Happily Published by Judith Appelbaum is an excellent resource for a first-time author.

If you are looking for a book that you can’t find in our catalog or online, please email us at help4kids@freespirit.com or call our customer service at 1.800.735.7323, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. CST, Monday–Friday, and we’ll let you know whether the book you’re looking for is still being published.

Yes, Free Spirit books are carried by local independent booksellers and chain bookstores such as Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, etc., and from online retailers such as Amazon.com.
All of our products meet or exceed the safety standards for our industry as established by both the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) International. We constantly keep up to date with these national safety organizations to ensure we are in compliance with all regulations.

It is our policy to use recycled paper stock in our catalogs whenever possible, and to use environmentally friendly soy-based inks as well. Occasionally, recycled stock is not available to us due to shortages in the paper industry, but we use it whenever we can.
Absolutely! Violet, a spirited Yorkie, and Twiggy, a gentle terrier mix, are our resident mischief makers. On any given day, Free Spirit can have three or four dogs roaming the office. If only they knew how to file!
